Title: Any benefit of bottle over sippy?
Post by: momtocheyenne&toby on August 07, 2005, 18:58:52 pm
Toby just found a cup of cheye's laying around (imagine that) and picked it up and took a drink out of it.  I guess I could just put his milk in a sippy if I want to, right?  Any reason not to?

No reason not at all. I suppose it might be harder to control the flow but if Toby copes then go for it. It is even better for him from what I have read.
My DS basically skipped bottles and has had cups since about 5 months old. I suppose the only thing is if it has not got some kind of valve and he is more inclined to tip it up...

I'm with Colleen on this one. If he's happy with the sippy just let him go for it! The only problem I found is that I couldn't get as much in the sippt cup as I could the bottle.

love

I was just asking about this as i want to introduce a sippy soon.  the nurse i asked said it is fine to do so, but until they are really good at drinking from it you shoudl not rely on it for a full "feed"/serve of milk.  i guess it depends on how fast he gets good at taking more than a few sips....
