Title: Crying during his bottle
Post by: MommyJ on August 13, 2005, 20:18:44 pm
My sweet little (big - 16 pounds at less than 4 months) boy has been eating between 7 and 9 ounces at every bottle for a couple of weeks but in the last few days he starts screaming 3 ounces into every bottle and it takes forever to finish (or we give up at 4 or 5).  He's hungry and goes at it enthusiastically but starts crying after a few seconds.  He has been on Gaviscon since he was 4 weeks old for reflux, but that doesn't seem to be the problem.  Our health visitor is no help at all and the doctor doesn't seem to know anything about babies.  Any suggestions - I feel so bad for him.

Have you tried a faster teat? The flow you use may now be too slow and he is crying out of frustrastion at not getting the milk quick enough.

You read my mind.

We moved from the Dr. Brown's #1's to 2's about 3 weeks ago and I tried the #3 this morning.  It did help a bit but then he got hiccups really bad so I'm not sure if it was coming too fast.
