Title: Baby sleeping 3 hrs, do I wake him?
Post by: Nick'sMom2005 on August 15, 2005, 19:29:53 pm
My DS has been asleep nearly 3 hrs. Didn't the book say something about not letting them sleep longer than a feed cycle or something like that?

Should I wake him up? He has been eating every 2 hrs during the day.

TIA

3 hrs. is fine.  As long as your baby doesn't get into the habit of taking a long nap (like 5 hrs.) during the day you're ok.  When there's a really long nap during the day, baby gets day and night confused and will begin to think that that nap time is night time.  I kept my baby on a 3 hour cyle consistantly.  She's 2 months old now and I lset her nap until she wakes up, but since she's learned day from night she never naps more than a couple hours.   :D
