Title: How much solids and milk should a 7 month old consume?
Post by: a_astorga on August 18, 2005, 18:03:40 pm
Hi,

My baby is almost 7 months old and eats solids since 5.5 months old.

Here is his eating routine:

6:30 - 7:00     wake
7:00               4-5 oz of milk
7:30               solids a small cup or the size of a big jar of baby food.
then nap time
10:30 - 11:00  4-5 oz milk
12:00             solids a small cup or the size of a big jar of baby food.
then nap time
3:00 - 3:30      4-5 oz milk plus cookie
then nap time (sometimes)
5:00               solids a small cup or the size of a big jar of baby food.
6:30               5-6 oz milk
1:00 am          5-6 oz milk

And about 2-3 oz of water every other day. I don't really give him water every day.

Does this seem OK?
Title: enough solids?

Have you read Tracy's books?
I was thinking as I read the schedule that things seemed fine, but the last line "threw me".  Have you considered doing a dream feed, instead of getting up at 1am.  Or maybe give more liquid during the day?

I try to give him more liquid, but he won't drink it. And does the dream feed really work?  Cause he wakes up 2-3 times a nite, sometimes cries a little and goes back to sleep then again like at 4 or 5 am and will talk and then cry a little and go back to sleep, so Im kinda used to bad sleep. I don't want to make things worse. How does the dreamfeed work? Have you tried it? Any good results?
