Title: How much milk for an 11 month old?
Post by: katejude on August 24, 2005, 23:58:57 pm
Hi there.  I have just weaned my son - yesterday was my last breastfeed   I'm ready ... I just didn't expect it to take only three weeks!

Anyway my question ... how much formula should an 11 month old be having?

Currently DS takes four bottles, 5am, 9am, 2pm, bedtime at 6.30pm.  Two of those feeds he'll take a full bottle of 220ml, the other two feeds just half a bottle.  Does this sound adequate?

The amounts seem to vary depending on which country you are in. In the UK the recommended amount per day is about 600mls (20 ounces). This is inclusive of milk with cereal, milk in foods, and dairy products (yoghurt, cheese, etc).

My dd had just 2 bottles a day at 11 months but as she had other sources of calcium I wasnt too bothered about the amount she was drinking.
