Hi All,

I saw this alert yesterday while grocery shopping, and although it was released on Aug.10/05, it was the first I had heard of it so I figured some of you might not be aware either.  Just in case.....


Health Hazard Alert - Presence of Plastic Particles in Nestle Baby Rice Cereal - Add Breast Milk or Forumula

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Nestle Canada are warning the public not to consume one production lot code of Nestle Baby Rice Cereal (Add Breast Milk or Formula variety) because some packages may contain peices of plastic capable of causing injury.

The affected products is packaged in a 227 g format with UPC code 0 65000 12516 0 and bears the expiry date 2006 MR 23 and production code 42670742A1.  No other products and sizes are affected by this alert.

Consumption of the affected product may cause injury.  There has been no reported injury associated with the consumption of this product.

Nestle Canada, Toronto Ontario is voluntarily recalling this product.  The product has been distributed nationally.

GAH!! The regular ingredients in Nestle formula are health enough of a health hazzard themselves, never mind the plastic bits!

is this just the rice cereal or the formula too??

It's just the rice cereal that had bits of plastic found in it.  It looks like the boxes were only shipped throughout Canada though.
