Title: Poop Question - WARNING TMI!
Post by: NKmommy on September 20, 2005, 03:20:05 am
Hi!  Just want to see if you think this is normal or may be a sign of allergy...

DS has always had really horrible poops.  We tried soy formula and he was on hypoallergenic formula for a while (because of severe reflux), but his poops always looked the same.  I am so confused!  Okay, here is the TMI.  His poops are dark green, a bit thinner than toothpaste, and a bit mucousy.  Is this normal???

So glad to be semi-anonymous when I post this question.

Mucous is often (but not always) a sign of an allergy. I second a call to the doc.

Thanks ladies for your advice!  I will definitely call the doctor just to double check.  In the meantime, someone mentioned that his formula could cause green poop.  Sure enough, I checked the Good Start website, and it said that Good Start can cause green, runny poops, and that can be normal for that particular formula.  Yeah!  So don't feel so worried, even though I will still look into it more...

Thank you!
