With winter fast approaching, as a first time mom, I am not sure how cold is too cold. My DS is 4.5 mos and I want to take him for walks everyday as he loves the scenery. Also...how do I know that I have got him dressed warm enough? Is it okay for his face to be cold like ours gets when it is cold? Do I put a scarf on him and just let his eyes poke through? Can it be too cold for his eyes outside? Sorry, I probably sound ridiculous, but I really don't know...I also don't want him to get too hot and then sweat outside either. I'd really appreciate knowing what you guys do where it's cold.

Last winter we got got a dawn snow suit from Land's End and it kept Adrian warm in the worst of the winter. There is even a picture of him sleeping in the stoller budled up while we were at an ice fastival. ;)

That being said, their skin is a bit more prone to frost bite and they don't quite regulate the temperature as efficiently as we do. So, budle him up well and keep an eye on your lo. Start small and see how it goes.

Last winter, I took Tyler out for short walks unless there was a biting cold wind. I bundled him up and kept an eye out for frostbite, and we were never out longer than 15-20 min. He wore lots of different things to stay warm. Sometimes a snowsuit, sometimes lots of blankets and his infant carrier cover, sometimes a hat, coat, mittens, and lots of blankets on his legs (once he was older). We also found a neat stroller snuggle sack at One Step Ahead (they sell a similar one for infant carriers) and it was soooo nice aned toasty!

Sandra, we have the exact same snowsuit for Nathan!!
I LOVE IT!!!!
It was SOO big on him last year, I am actually hoping he'll get to wear it again this year, but that's probably wishful thinking!
