Title: night waking
Post by: Lilah's mummy on October 21, 2005, 11:05:47 am
hi i need some help, my 6month lilah was sleeping thru the night from 13 weeks old the last 3 weeks she has been waking 4 -5 times a night at first it was because we were away from home. she then got ear infections and a cold.i am so exauhsted am not getting any more than 2 hours straight sleep, . i try to do a 11pm dreamfeed but she wont have a bar of it. she shares her room with sister who has school so i cant have her crying so feed her just to keep her quite but she only has maybe 10 min but still wakes.the last 2nghts there is a pattern to her waking. she is on solids have 3 meals a day.  and breast 4 hourly . naps are great 1 1/2 hours 2 x day and a 40 min evening. she was going to bed at 7 and sleeping until 6. last 2 nights she has had a little longer evening nap and put to bed 8.30pm still no difference in the sleep.
i have thought of doing wake to sleep but am so tired that spending more nights awake when so sleep deprived seems to hard at the moment and she is just starting to feel well again.[/b] :?

I think if she is only just starting to feel well again, you need to wait a bit longer, as when she is totally well, she may stop waking again.
I know how hard it is with broken sleep the last month has been hell for me with sick baby & toddler & 3hours sleep in a row seems like a dream. Can you calm her down by walking her around rather than feeding, so she doesn't get even more into the habit of a feed, that is what I used to do with my ds#1, around that age as my ds was really sick & I didn't want crying to disturb him... it worked, took longer though.
