Title: Independent sleeper regressed with a vengance!

I don't know what I have done to break the habit, but my 6month old ds is now unable to put himself to sleep. Not only that, but since he is in a phase of fallling asleep on people, when he is moved to be put into his cot he starts crying. I am at my wits end as I can try for at least an hour to get him to nap, some days i just give up and leave leave him awake :!: I have tried moving him into his cot at various sleep cycles - wide awake after winding him down, drowsy, etc etc and am having no luck. I have tried pat/shh him when in the cot and this works to settle him but then he starts up again until he is in full blown screaming and then I have to start all over again :cry: Can someone please help?

So that i know where we are starting from, can you please tell me:

-have read Tracy's New book?
-when did this start
