i have seen all posts on sippy cup issues, my dd has been drinking from a sippy cup from 7 mo. but will not drink milk from the cup. my first dd was the same. in the end i dropped my dd#1 milk altogether, trying to do something else with dd#2.
any suggestions?

I tried a new cup altogether for milk. ds was quite excited by the idea of a special milk cup. I used a cup that has a straw, but you could try a real (plastic!) cup. Obviously both of these options need more supervision that a sippy but if it works it's worth it.

Have you tried the Nuby cups? They're a nice transition from bottle to sippy where milk is concerned. The spout is shaped like a sippy but it's made of silicone like a bottle. My dd loved them and gradually moved to the "real" sippy. http://www.netkidswear.com/12oznunogrcu.html

I am with Stacie. I couldn't believe it because we were in the same situation and I gave up. So this morning I decided to try the Nuby sippy with the soft valve and low and behold she drank her milk out of it!! I couldn't believe it. I will say I tried this at 12 months and she wouldn't even consider it. I did hold her like I was giving her a bottle so I am sure that helped too. Best of luck.... I really think that us letting it go and let her have the bottle then try again later worked for us.

I could have written your post - I am struggling w/ this too - if it makes you feel any better.
DD will take any sip cup i offer and loves it, but only w/ water (no juice, and NO milk). Not nubby, not nothing! She also won't take juice in a bottle.
She has a am bottle, lunch time and dinner time, so no bedtime - she doesn't want a cuddle/bottle before bed, i guess that is good.
I guess there are rules in her world about milk and water and how we drink them - tee hee.
I am worried but not too worried, yet. She dropped her paci on her own, so maybe this too she will drop when she is ready. In case she is listening she has until she is 18mos! :lol:

I swear, I was SOOOO terrified of the transition as ds LOVED LOVED LOVED his Ba Ba's, that when someone on here suggested the Nuby and we switched, I could have been a spokesperson for that company!!!
Not only are they shaped like a bottle, the spouts are soft like a bottle, but they're also only like $1.50 a piece!!!! If the spout goes bad, they don't have replacement tops, but at a buck fifty, you just replace the whole thing!!
What's even better is that they also make the Nuby with a hard spout, so once they get used to the soft spout (which ds actually took the first time, no looking back!!! - I packed up EVERY bottle, nipple, liner the MOMENT he took the Nuby!!) then you can switch them over!!

Yup, we use the nuby too! No luck :shock: .
I just found the new nuby (sport bottle) which has a longer tip looks a bit more like a bottle nipple but it has only been 1 day so i will keep at it.
I am not very consistent at offering her milk in the sippy, do you think that could be the problem (joke :wink: ).

ok. i'm with Nikki...MEGAN WILL NOT DRINK MILK FROM THE SIPPY. So, after talking to Kori and some others, i was sure the Nuby would work. went and bought it.....NOPE! she will have none of it. the thing is the NUBY is NOT like th bottle, it has this little dip in it...and she looks at it all funny. i tried drinking from it and it was really hard, you have to like bite down on it and then suck....so i can see how she had a hard time with it. when i first gave it to her she put it in her mouth right away but after a fe minutes was like "all done, aLL DONE" and she has refused it ever since....what do i do?????????????
