Title: I need sleep, so does my 14 mo old
Post by: Kori on November 14, 2005, 21:27:29 pm
For the past two weeks, my daughter has been waking up every night religously but not the exact same time. At first I was giving her milk but stopped that a week ago. But that didn't stop the waking up. It wasn't whining, this is all out screaming. So finally three days ago I took her to the doctor to have her checked out.... nothing. So I don't know what to do, he said to have her cry it out because it is probably a phase but a two week phase?? To top it off, the past two nights increased to two night wakings and screams out every so often as well without actually getting up. She has been getting tons of teeth. PLEASE HELP.... the poor girl needs some sleep as well do I. Also, we did last week go back to two naps to try to get her more rested! Any advice would be appreciated!!!!

Sounds to me like teething. We have been going through this with Adrian. Our ped. recommended giving him a doze of Motrin before bed.

We started that and he sleeps though on these nights. Maybe it will work for you too.

I agree with Sandra that it sounds like teeth.  Does she have her eyeteeth yet?  These were the worst for us, and Motrin worked so well to help get him through the night.

Thanks guys, I will say I gave her Motrin last night and it helped a lot. I found out from my doctor that I wasn't giving enough, like a third of what she needed to really help. So..... she made it through the night. The first time in two and half weeks. I feel so good today myself! :) Thank you guys.

Yes! That's wonderful. :) Hope you both get some rest now.
