My almost 10 mo DS has 8 teeth and is chewing everything in sight. There are bite marks all along the edge of his crib. He's started to chew/eat the furniture in the family room as well! Wood end tables, plaster pillars, etc. He had a mouth full of plaster this morning! :? What am I to do? Remove all furniture from the house for the time being?! I've thought about spraying bitter apple on things (keeps dogs away), but I'm sure that's not the best solution. Problem is, I use various end tables to block off non-child-proofed areas of the room (such as the verticle blinds!).
What to do??

my neighbors daughter was doing that, she was tested and shown to not have enough iron. Maybe you should talk to your dr about it and make sure there's no medical reason for it.
other then that I'm afread I don't know how to help.

I was going to say something similar...I heard as well that it is usually a sign that they are deficient in something. Come to think of it, I think my brother also use to chew on his crib and he was anemic as well. Let us know if you find anything out! :D

He was tested just a month ago and the iron levels were great. Honestly, I just think he likes to bite since he bites everything and everyone.

Hee, hee.....that and maybe just basic teething too? :D
