my little boy is 1 and a few weeks before he was 1 he took his first steps and stayed like that untill yesterday when he started to walk fom one couch to the other.
then today he is letting go of my hand and walking to his dad at the other end of the room he has very good balance and rarley falls.
and he is also letting go of the couch and walking to me which must be about 20 steps he is taking now.
he still crawls when he wants to go futher.
but walking more.
is he walking yet or still taking steps.

I'd say he was walking, you lucky lady!! Best you get baby-proofing!

Congrats on your lo's first steps
I've been wondering the same thing. My DD was 1 on 26th Nov and took her first (4) steps on Halloween, but then didn't seem to take anymore for a week or two! She's finally getting the hang of it, so i class her as walking now. She'll walk from one side of the room to the other and if i hold her hand i can walk her out to the car, which makes life a bit easier on my growing bump! I'm sure the fun will begin when they start running!!

I would say when they start following you  Dd started like that about 4 weeks ago, now she is running, though she still goes down and bum shuffles occasionally
Congratulations though, it's so nice to see them become toddlers,
