Title: taking hours to get to sleep
Post by: yaya on December 11, 2005, 11:46:56 am
My 8 week old son sleeps really well for his daytime naps but the evenings are becoming a nightmare. It takes him anything up to 3hrs to get to sleep. although he is not crying he fusses in his cot for the whole time and even if i allow him to fall asleep in my arms he wakes when i transfer him. Any suggestions??? When he eventually falls asleep he will go 5hrs then about 3 then about 1 hr. We have taken to sleeping really late to catch up on sleep!! help!

I would have to say it is a perfectly normal unsettled period... most babies have it in the early evening & as they get older they "grow out of it" Often it is an indication that the baby wants tanking up, so offer extra feeds & you may find the long stretch of sleep extends itself.
