Title: Am I reading this right?
Post by: JennŠ on December 20, 2005, 14:23:17 pm
DD has been pretty good about not drooling her Prevacid tablets all over lately.  Her tongue thrust seems to be diminishing.  Sooo, we tried a few bites of cereal.  As expected, a bunch oozzed out with each bite.  Major tongue thrust at the time.  I kinda  thought that maybe she still was not ready for solids.  Or is she, and just needs to practice more?  Tried it after the bottle if that makes any difference.  Can you tell I've never done this before?     Thanks!!

How about trying before bottle when DD is hungry - she may be hungry enough to take the solids. There again she could get angry as it was not what she was expecting. I keep trying - she'll get used to it sooner or later.

Good luck with sloppy meal times

I would try once a day and just keep it light and short.  If she pushes it out of her mouth because of the tongue thrust, practice and time are the only things to remedy that.
