Title: waking up happy at night
Post by: sarah brown on December 21, 2005, 15:01:26 pm
Hi All

Does anyone have any tips on night waking???

let me start from the begining. We started our 21 wk old DS on pu/pd 10 days ago and all though we've gone through highs and lows we thought we were making real progress.  Nap times are ususally around 1hour 30 mins with the help of shush pat at 45 mins and he is on the 4 hour easy (although he is being a litlte fussy with feeds as he is teething and got his first two this wk).

Anyway he has normally sleept well at night untill around 6.30/7 (or 4.30/5 am if he hasn't took all his feeds in the day but then back down untill 6.30/7 wake to feed).  The last 3 nights he has woke once or twice just for the sake of it, he's not hungry (not much crying) but whinging if left alone for too long we have tried shush pat and he doesn't get upset he just wriggles and messes and last night he actually started to laugh at me and blow rasberries. (funny normally but at 1.30am I think not)  He just didn't seem tired.  I know he's not hungry as the second night we tried feeding him and he just messed.

Any ideas or advice as I am confused as I thought his night sleeping would improve (i.e no odd night feeds) once his day time was sorted but it is turning into a nightmare.

Many thanks Sarah

The same thing has been happening at our house...I'll keep you posted if we discover anything that helps......are you on the verge of tears as well?!

I was last night, it's so frustrating my first (5 year old daughter) slept through form 8 weeks with only the odd restless night so this is a complete shock to the system,  But I will keep plodding on and let you know if we solve the mystery.

Good luck, Sarah

Mine has been doing this too, same age as yours.  She did it for three nights and then just stopped so maybe it will pass soon!  I hope so because I feel for you!
