I like the Lorraine Kelly Baby and Toddler eating plan. It was on offer on Amazon.com for about £4.I like it 'cos it says things like "one carrot, a handful of peas" rather than weights, which put me off immediatly! Its quite short apart from the recipies, not too much to plough through before you get cooking!

Hi everyone.  I've found the books by annabel karmel really good.  They've given me the confidence to experiment and not just stick with the receipes.  The only down side is having to weigh everything so I might try lorraine kelly's book as well.

I've enjoyed going through The Australian Women Weekly Babies & Toddlers ones.  I have Good Food and Fresh Food.

There are some great recipes and for any first time mum doing intro to solids it gives you a table of first foods, etc and has it diveded into sections eg up to 4 months, 4-6 months, 6-9 months, 9-12 months, etc.

Another good one is Cooking For Your Baby the Natural Way by Laraine Toms I bought it of eBay but I guess you'd be able to find it at bookshops, etc because it's a new revised edition.

A great Canadian one is "The Baby's Table" by Brenda Bradshaw and Lauren Donaldson Bramley. The latter is a doc as well. I found it particularly useful in the first months of solid food. Great recipes, easy to do lot's of other tidbits of info in it. It was good to have something specific to this country as a lot of what we get is American. Nice to know the Canadian guidlines for things.

I'm with Liz, the Lorraine Kelly Baby and Toddler Eating Plan was my bible when I was introducing new foods for DD.  I still use it now.

I think I also bought it from amazon.

Yes me too. I use Annabel Karmel. I like her introduction of solids - I prob didn't even know what butternut squash was until I found her. I also used Lorraine Kelly's book. Much more about using what you actually have at home eg tin of tuna and mashed potato to make little fish cakes. We loved her pitta bread pizzas!

It's not really a recipe book, but I use the book "Nanny Wisdom" by Justine Walsh and Kim Nicholson to figure out the order in which to give fruits and vegetables to DS. I then just steam and puree the fruit and veg.

Add my vote for Lorainne Kelly, I used annabel Karmel a lot for the beginning of weaning but every time I make logan something from LKs book he eats the whole lot!!

I use Annabel Karmel's books which I think are superb. Interesting recipes divided into ages, simple to do and I think has resulted in my dd being open to try anything - she wolfs down vegetables like they are the tastiest thing in the world.

Have to say after reading some of the other posts though that I may give Lorraine Kelly's book a go as a bit of a change is always good from mine as well as dd's perspective - also like the idea of not having to weigh the ingredients out  :)

My mum bought me a book by Amanda Grant called Healthy Baby & Toddler Foods, the complete healthy diet for 0 to 3 year olds.

I only received this yesterday, according to the insert on the book it cost £10.99, I've had a quick flick through the book it looks quite interesting.  It has recipe's in it (from 4 months to 3 years), see the link for what the book looks like http://www.books.co.uk/healthy_baby_and_toddler_foods/1840009381.html

Super Baby Food by Ruth Yaron is wonderful! Is really a comprehensive look at nutrition, recipes for homeade baby food and practical advice that answers "when?, how much and what kind of food should I give my baby?"

My absolute favourite is, "What Should I Feed My Baby?" by Suzannah Olivier.  I also have Annabel Karmel's, which is good but I find Ms Olivier's a gazillion times better in terms of nutritional information as well as the recipes somehow feeling more wholesome.  I bought it off Amazon.

My favourite (as well as Annabel karmel) is 'Finger foods for babies and toddlers'. It was a life-saver when Sam went off using a spoon. Here is the link in Amazon for the details (although obviously you don't have to buy it there.)

Hi I also recommend Lorraine Kellys book and I bought the Finger food book as recommended by Samuels mum though not used it much yet as lo still getting to grips (!) with finger food!

I have another book though called 365 recipes for babies, toddlers and children by Bridget Wardley and Judy More.  I got this from Amazon after reading reviews on there and it is very good.  Lots of things to try, good variety from first weaning foods right up to about 6 years of age. There are also meal planners for different age groups, snacks, drinks and party foods as well as recipes the children can help make.

"The Contented Little Book of Weaning" By Gina Ford is worth a read too.  I got mine from Amazon.  Great for a first timer.

I absolutely love the book by Annabel Karmel.  I wasn't as thrilled with the recipes from the Super Baby Food book but I liked the intro.  I'll have to check out Lorraine Kelly's book as well.

Anabel Karmel and Loraine Kelly I got from the Library and were quite good.  Couldn't get Super foods by Ruth Yaron here but a friend just gave me her old book. Australian Baby and Toddler meals by Robin Barker.  I'm sure there is a revised edition as it still talks about 4 months old to wean and whole milk at 9months but the recipes are good.  I read Baby Love by Robin Barker when I was pg and enjoyed it (didn't have BW then!)

Just adding my favorite to the list, called Sprout Right, Nutrition from Tummy to Toddler by Lianne Phillipson Webb.  It covers pregnancy nutrition as well and infant and toddler, and has a range of healthy recipes from purees to finger foods.  It's very thorough.  :)

I have bought the River Cottage Baby and Toddler Cookbook and it's fab.  Loads of yummy recipes which we're all enjoying :)

http://www.amazon.co.uk/River-Cottage-Baby-Toddler-Cookbook/dp/1408807564/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1408453153&sr=8-1&keywords=river+cottage+baby

It covers both purees and a more BLW approach and the recipes are grouped by season.  Also lots of practical information about feeding solids, milk (BF and formula), nutrition etc.
