Title: Do all of them separate?
Post by: JennŠ on January 19, 2006, 00:54:57 am
We just transitioned DD to thin Gentlease from nectar thick.  We were thickening for 'flux, and it did not seem to change the amount of urping.  Without the thickening gel, the formula separates after a time in the fridge.  Do all of the powdered formulas do this?  I don't remember the Neosure doing that, but I think it is a bit thicker on its own.  Just curious, no worries. :D

Oh boy, it's been a looooooooong time since I've used powder formula (or any formula for that matter) but I'm fairly certain that it would tend to seperate, or settle if left sitting.

Yes, after a little while there will be some settling...but I don't remember it being a significant amount.   :D

Thought so.   Looks a bit weird, like cream rising.  DH has not noticed yet, that will be funny. :D

Maybe because of the low lactose?  Or the fact that the protein is partially broken down?  I figured that was the reason.  It must be normal for this stuff, no problems for the babe.  Just needs a good shake before we give it to her. :D
