Title: Rice milk - how to get them to drink it?
Post by: Meg's Mom on January 29, 2006, 04:23:50 am
HI

We are on day 1 of the no dairy/soy diet to see if it helps w/ all our problems (see earlier post on this topic).

DC didn't really take to the rice milk - i know it is only day 1.

Does anyone have any suggestions.  Or should i post this in one of the eating forums?

Thanks

You could try to flavor with a bit of vanilla?

yes, start with vanilla flavor.  but don't forget to try other brands.  my son loved this offbrand best....when we moved and had to switch back to rice dream it took awhile for him to really like it.  but try a few brands and find one they like.....then move over to plain taste instead of vanilla.  i was surprised the rice dream vanilla actually had less sugar in it than the plain!

I am new to this, but yup the choc flavor does have milk.  Turns out she likes the vanilla - TX heavens for small miracles! :-)

Double check----some vanillas have allergens in them!!!!!!  I cannot remember what it was, but my sons allergists told us to avoid it....but if she is tolerating it---heck keep going.  Also, he told us to stay away from Mexican vanilla for babies and pregnancy---I think (this was over 2.5 yrs ago) that it is because it is not regulated/pure like ours is here.---just an FYI.

Also, for the rice milk, I cannot got my son to drink a cup of it either, but he will consume it in his cereal everyday.

Hope this helps
