Title: when into schedule do i start solids
Post by: shazzy on February 27, 2006, 09:13:38 am
Hi all,

I would like to start weaning soon but don't know what times....Finlay feeds at 7am, 1100, 1500, 1900 and 2300

All the books say start at lunch so do I bring in baby rice at say 1300??  he usually eats more in the afternoon - is it better to start then and go against the books?  after bringing in lunch then where do I put breakfast??  9am?? he is usually sleeping at this time.

so confused!!!!!!!!!!

My Lo is 5.5months old..... Her schedule goes like this

7.00am milk
7.30am solids - cereal, yoghurt, fruit with rusk etc

11.30am milk
11.30am solids: veggies and pudding(fruit, yoghurt)

3.00pm - solids: veggies and pudding with water

5.00pm: milk

10.00pm - dream feed

dont know whether this helps we just got into this routine which seems to work for us

My LO is 5months:

7am - wake
7:30am - bottle - 6-8oz
8:15am - Breakfast - porridge mixed with 2oz of milk I usually add an icecube of fruit to this as well.
12:00 - bottle - 5-6oz  (I give him as much as he will take)
12.45pm - solids - 3 or 4 veggie or fruit ice cubes
16:00pm - bottle - 5-6oz (I give him as much as he will take)
16:45pm - small yogurt for babies
18.45pm - bottle - 10-12oz

This is the one that currentky works for us      :D

i have always waited a half hour to an hour before giving my lo solids so she has a little more room and isn't full of milk - although with mine, it doesn't really make a difference cuz she is a little piggy  :)  i had started dd with the first meal being breakfast but to each his own - whatever fits into your schedule better i suppose!
