Title: How to transition from 3-4 hr routine
Post by: carinah on March 18, 2006, 07:06:05 am
Heya....

My LO is 4 month 1 week and still on 3 hr routine.  She is doing 30-40 min naps so I thought maybe its time to get her on 4 hr routine but HOW?  I can understand the part about adding 15 min activity to morning so 10 am feed becomes 10:15, but what happens at the original 1 pm feed to get it to 3 pm??  I am confused and would love for someone to provide help.

Ideally I would like a schedule to follow like the one on page 230 of Tracy's book (only that one is confusing and apparently with errors?)

Sofia's schedule is as follows currently:
E 7 am
A 7:30
S 8:30 (Goes down 45 min to 1 hr after she is feed....nap lasts for 30-40 min currently and then we have activity again until next feed)
Y

E 10 am
A 10:30 am
S 11:30 am
Y

E 1 pm
A 1:30 pm
S 2:30 pm
Y

E 4 pm
A 4:30 pm
S 5 or 5:30 depending on naps during day
Y

E 7 pm
A none (bath taken before feed)
S 7:30
Y

E 10:30 pm dreamfeed
S 11 pm (till 6:30 or 7 am where I get her up and she has mostly been awake for a while...sometimes from 6 am but she will lie there and play)

Hope someone can help me with how to transition.  Thanks heaps!!

Hello,

My dd couldn't make the transition very fast.  But we kind started doing the Days 12-15 routine right away and stuck with it for 3 months.  It worked quite well for us.

Good luck, Tarri
