Title: Quick question
Post by: yaya on April 23, 2006, 15:15:43 pm
I've heard that putting LO to bed slightly earlier helps with nightwakings( if they r due to being overtired)...My DS usually has his bath at 7 then bottle and bed...how much earlier do u suggest I put him to bed

I tried adjusting my ds bedtime too because of nightwakings but it didn't seem to matter.  (He's been getting his bottle 6:30ish and in bed 7ish.)  Have you tried wake-to-sleep?  I've done it for the past 3 nights with him and I think I'll do it one more time tonight.  Last night he slept from 6:45 pm to 6 am.  Here's how it works:  If your son is waking at the same time every night you set your alarm for 1 hour before he wakes.  Go in and stroke his cheek just enough to make him turn his head or stir him a little.  If he takes a pacifier, pop it in and leave.  You are suppose to do this for 3 nights and it should keep him from waking at that time and get him to sleep through the night.   :)

Hummm, I know some babies have 6:00 bedtimes.  Maybe that would work for him.  What are his naps like?
