Hi I just have a quick question. My 6 1/2 month old is waking every 5 hours once at between 11 and midnight and than again at 5:00 or 5:30am. She eats boths times about 5 ounces. My questions is what do I do to stop these night wakings. She will continue to scream if I don't feed her and she goes right back down when she is done eating. I will take any advice I am lacking sleep and it is getting harder each night. I don't know if this makes a difference but she is a big girl about 21 pounds. Thanks for listening.

Sounds like a growth spurt to me...to make u feel better DS is also 6 months and waking every hr! Think a few waking quite normal...if shes hungry..feed her! Maybe u could try upping her daytime feeds to 'tank her up'? Does she take a paci?

There does tend to be a growth spurt at around 6 months - are the night wakings a new occurance? Has she started solids yet?
-
No they are really not a new thing. We had two nights recently where she sleep from 7-5am. Then I bragged to everyone and the last 4 days she started waking twice a night. Yes she is on soilds for 3 meals.

How many oz of millk does she take duirng the day?
-
I would say about 16 ounces if that.

Maybe water down her nightime bottles so shes more hungry in the morning and fills up nicely during the day?

Do you dreamfeed? Perhaps you could try getting a good amount into her at a DF at around 10.30pm (before she wakes) and then water down the second bottle when she wakes for it - though to be honest a 5am wake-up following a dreamfeed is pretty good going. Lots of mums are up earlier than this - although I know it doesn't make you feel better. Take a look at this post;

Well once again I listen to these boards and gave Helena more bottle during the day and she slept from 7:30pm until I went in there at 7:00am and she was just playing in her crib very happy. Thank you everyone and I hope tonight goes the same way
