Hi there!
At this age, you really don't want to worry about discipline - your LO is throwing things because he can and really for no other reason.  At this point, he's learning what his body can do and what he has control over in his world.  It's really just his way of learning more about the world and about himself.  So, I definitely wouldn't try to keep him from doing it.  If you don't want to pick stuff up for him don't bother, but it could also be the beginning of him learning about cause and effect (if I throw this toy on the floor, Mom will pick it up and give it back to me - how cool!) but I think he's a bit young for that.  If he throws things while sitting in a seat, you can always attach his toys to the seat so he can retrieve them himself.  But, if my nearly 14 month old is anything to judge by, it's just the beginning of a very long phase :)  Just remember....he's learning!

Oh, and if really does bother you, then don't give it any extra attention, just ignore it.  If it doesn't get a reaction from you, he may tire of it more quickly than he would if you reacted every time he threw something.
