Title: Would like to start EASY with 6 week old..help!
Post by: amyrec on June 19, 2006, 22:58:51 pm
Hi everyone!  I would like to begin using the EASY routine with my 6 week old daughter.  We are in a situation right now where she is not napping.  How will this affect implementing the EASy routine and how can I get started with her?
Thank you!

Hi, welcome on board!!

I first spent a few days just keeping note of my baby's own routines - feed times, times when most alert, bedtimes.

Personally I tried to implement EASY a little bit at a time.   started with bedtime, having a set routine (bath, jammies, feed, bed) when I noticed my ds was getting tired - bedtime has become earlier as he's got older.

By keeping track of his own natural rythms I was slowly able to bring him onto three hour EASY, slowly streching out the time between his feeds to do so.  At the end of the day, EASY isn't a rigid schedule, if he feeds 15 mins early or naps a little less, I don't sweat the small stuff.

If you check out some of the message boards, there's loads of good advice about setting up EASY for your lo.

Good luck!
