of the night?

Currently, baby wakes up twice to feed around 1ish and 4ish and then up at 7am.

I am not completely sure, but I think at his age you should still feed him.  If you want to try the paci, go ahead, but if he still wakes shortly after, then he's genuinely hungry.

I agree with Heather it is quiet normal for babies this young to wake during the night to feed. My DD didn't start sleeping through until 6weeks. However some don't stop wth the night feeding until around 6months.

My aunt who is a nurse started very early doing this (I think around a month). When her lo would wake in the night for a feeding she would pop in the soother and if he/she woke 1/2 hour later or an hour then she would feed. Within a week or so baby was sleeping through the night...

She said it went from 5 hours straight, to 10 hours straight, to then 12 hours.....simply from putting off the feeds just a little and therefore opening the window for baby to eat more during the day.

I personally don't know that I would start that young, BUT the night wakings never bothered me (perhaps that's because dd and I slept until noon for the first 6months :o  :P). For baby #2 (whenever that is) it might be a different story, but I don't know....I sooo loved those moments in the night just me and baby.....

anyways....I think it's not a bad way to go about it though - if baby is content to just suck on the soother and drift back off to sleep, then see how that goes....and again, when baby wakes up the next time I would feed.

Just my thoughts :)
