Title: unswaddle for nightfeeding??
Post by: Wendy~ on June 29, 2006, 14:07:12 pm
DS is 4 weeks old, he has one or two nightwakings that I usually feed him for.  My question is, do I undswaddle him for these feeds?  Or am I supposed to keep him swaddled?

I've tried both but if I keep him swaddled he always seems to poop so I have to unswaddle to change the diaper ::).  If I unswaddle he gets stirred up when reswaddling and is harder to put back down.  Also, it is harder to burp him swaddled, and he needs to be burped or else he is supper fussy/uncomfortable.  Is there a trick to burping while swaddled?

Wendy, how lucky you are to have a 4 week old that only wakes once or twice!!!  :o  :o

I always kept my DS swaddled for the night feeds but we never had poop interference! That's odd, he doesn't poop if he's unswaddled? I always found it easier to burp him when he was swaddled actually. Have you tried laying him on his side to burp?

I think it is more coincidence than anything.  Just to annoy me :P

That's a good idea, haven't tried it.  will give it a go tonight.  Thank you for replying!  I know I'm an oldtimer around here, I just feel like I'm brand new at all this! :-[ :D

LOL, no worries! Try that side thing, that worked well for us in those early days.
