Title: Not always getting email notification of pm's

Hello,

Over the last 4 days I've had 10 pm's or so but I didn't receive email notification for 2 of them.

Is this normal?

If you have it set to notify then you should receive an email for every notification.  Have you checked your junk/spam folder to see if any have made their way there?

If not then we will keep an eye on it, so please continue to report problems :)

It is odd how some of my notifications find their way into my junk folder from time to time.. whereas most of them come into my inbox safe and sound.. why does the spam filter do that?

Hello,

I am no longer receiving any email notifications of pm's. I have checked my junk thingy to see if they are going there, but they are not. I've also checked whether I have my notification option turned on - which I have.

I am sure it is probably something very simple (like me  ;D)!

Hi Kat :)

Can you try this, browse to a popular thread on the forum and click the 'Notify' button, this should send you an email each time a new reply is added to that thread, then report back. :)

I turned on the notify button as per instructions, and I was getting email notifications of replies to topics.

Still nothing for PM's?  OK..try this;

Change Notify by email every time you receive a personal message: from 'Always' to 'Never' then 'Change Profile'.  Then ideally, it would be best if you logged out, cleared your browsers cookies and cache, closed browser, re-opened and log back into the forum, and then change the Notify by email every time you receive a personal message: back from 'Never' to 'Always'.  If you can't be bothered for the cookie cleaning part then just try it without that bit.

One other thing, is your pm box full?

PM box is only half full.

Done what you said (but without cookie cleaning bit, will get DH to do that as I don't know what I'm doing).

You watch it will be years now before I get another PM to see if it works.  ::)

Nope it didn't work!

Still not done my cookie thingy.

Received two pm's off the same person today, and I was notified of the second one. Progress perhaps  :)
