Post by: misstrust on August 25, 2006, 11:15:10 am
i read in one of traceys book to give prune juice to los when constipated, she says to water it down.
so my dh went to the supermarket and asked a lady for prune juice and told her what it was for and she told my dh oohhh you cant give babys prune juice its far too strong.
is this true? do i treat it as a first food try for so many days ect incase of allergie? has anyone else given los prune juice?

Too strong in that it works so well.  Yes, treat it as a first food, but water it down a bit if you don't want a "code brown" all over the place.   :)

We used prunes for Harvey and we use them with Theo.  We buy a packet, boil them, purée them and freeze in ice cube trays.  Then defrost as we need, we mix it with either Ready Brek or Weetabix.  We've haven't tried it as a drink, only as as a mix with cereal.
