Post by: KELLYTOYS on September 08, 2006, 08:41:00 am
hi please can you help.

my baby is 9 weeks old (or 6weeks, she was born 3 weeks early), we are in a good routine during the day but she will only sleep 3- 3.1/2 hours at night.  She did sleep 5 hours a few times but now only 3. I thought it may be a growth spurt but this as been happening for about 2 weeks now. We are breast feeding plan looks like this

E 7am
A
A 8.30 1 - 1.1/2 hours (in pushchair school run)
E 10am
A
S 11.30 1 - 1.1/2 hours (in chair)
E 1pm
A
S 2.20pm 1 - 1.1/2 hours (in pushchair school run)

E 4pm
A
S  Short nap
E 6pm
A bath
e normally will eat on off 7pm- 8.30 pm
S Bed at 8.30 sleep about 9pm( will get self to sleep)

E 12.30AM
E 3.30AM
E sometimes 5am than 7am

I do not dream feed because she is only just going to sleep than.

any ideas about getting her to sleep longer at night??

she is also a very very noisy baby and it is hard to sleep near her.  I think I also sometimes think she is awake when really she is asleep.

regards

Debbie

Your LO is actually doing very well for her age. I like your routine, the only thing I would suggest is you instate a dreamfeed at 10:30-11pm to eliminate the 12:30am feed.

My DD was very loud too, we had to move her to her own room so we could get sleep. She slept better then too.

perhaps its that at that age she should be sleeping more often. maybe that is why she wakes so much at night. but it sounds like you have a great schedual! but ya i would agree that you should introduce a df.
