DD is 2 1/2 weeks old and has been on a 7-7 routine since a few days after birth. I'm not sure why (probably cause the books says so) cause 8-8 works much better with #1's routine. Is there anyone here with a 8-8 routine. Does it matter? Cause all the routine's I see posted start around 7. Do you think the change will be hard to implement at this age. Do I just keep a bedtime of around 8 and hope her morning wakeups fall into line with this. The last 2 days she woke around 7:40 so I don't think it will be too difficult. Does anyone see any contraindications to this?

If it's not interrupting her natural sleep cycle and she's able to handle it I think it will be fine. Does she get overtired when you try the 8 pm bedtime?

I'm not sure yet as today will be our first try at it. I think she is naturally leaning toward a 8am routine anyway (I hope! :)) I was thinking of turning her last 8pm cluster feed into a top up and then into bed. I'm just afraid of her missing out on food but hopefully it won't matter much. Is 9 too late to add a cluster feed later (since everything is rssentially an hour ahead)?

I do think 9 is too late for a cluster feed, and the 9 om feed is more for when they are going through a grwoth spurt. I would feed ds at 5 then again at 7 when we did cluster feeding on a regular basis. So you could try something like 6 then 8.
