Title: fruit juice + egg
Post by: brightside on December 29, 2006, 13:41:32 pm
DS is 13 months. Can I give him PURE fruit juice like adults have or do I water it down and if so by how much? Also, when can they have runny egg? Would like to try boiled egg and soldiers. TIA

We have already tried DS with boiled egg and soliders and he absolutely loved them, I just assumed that as they can have everything else bar nuts at a year why not egg. I still add water to juice as it is so strong and I think i read somewhere that even adults should dilut it a little I use about 2/3 juice to 1/3 water for DS.

I haven't based any of these decisions on fact just trial and error

We haven't had undiluted orange juice since it seemed to have given DS diarrhea  :-[ I still feel bad about it - but I don't know if it's a typical reaction

Since my pediatrician suggests a limit of 4 ounces (120 mls) of juice a day, I water it down.  If I don't, DS sucks it down really fast and wants more.

I tried him on runny eggs (that were pasteurized), but he didn't like them.  He will, however, eat scrambled eggs.
