My friend is nearing her appt with a specialist (10 more days). However, she is already trying to go gluten free with her 13m dd who is miserable. Will this hamper the gluten allergen testing?

I would check with her dr - a quick phone call would prob be all it would take. If I recall I think it's ok to go gluten free as long as it is reinserted back into the diet before testing. But I'm not sure how long before. I think that it's the type of question that the secretary would get all the time though, so even getting in touch with him/her would probably suffice. WOrth an ask though :)

I would think that if there is only 10 days left that gluten should not be excluded from the diet at this point. I would wait until after the test, then she can go gluten free whilst waiting for the results. I know you can't be gluten free at the time of tests as this will not give an accurate result. I would definately advise your friend to speak to the specialist regarding this situation.

I agree with Kelly!

keep the gluten until the test, from the understanding i have it has to be in the current diet.
