need advise for going on first vacaton with 8.5 mo

hi there,
i would love to get an advise on going on a vacation.
my son is 8.5 mo. this is the first time for him to go on the vacation. he is going away from his kindergarden, first time fly in the airplane, he will have to stay in many different places, see many people., my family and my hussbands......?
please help me, since i am so so afraid of how he will deal with all this and our return home......

What's his temperament? How does he handle outings? Is he social? how long is the flight?

We did the first flight/visit to my parents at about same age and DS did just fine.

When you go, bring some of his favorite toys and blankets, so that he has at least some familiarity. While there, follow his cues as you normally do, and keep his routine as much as possible.

my lo is very friendly, loves when people pay attention to him. I worry about his sleep, he is going to have new bed, and it will be in the same room with us. At home he haas his own room.

The flight is long arround 17 hours, with a stop in the middle.
What did you do with your lo on the plane when the baby wants to crawl, play?

Our trips where only less than 3 hours of flight time at that time, so I'm not of a much help regarding handling the long plane trip. Regarding sleep in the same room, to be honest with you up until the second birthday, it was a total disaster for us. We kept waking each other up whole night.

we are flying in 3 days, so i still have time to read everything and pepare for the trip.

i feel relieved since i see many mothers have been through this and it went ok.
