Dropping the Dream Feed?
« on: August 20, 2007, 12:41:38 pm »
I'm wondering how to drop the dream feed?  Although I've read page 123 of the book -- it seems that is for a MUCH bigger feed and MUCH later then I do it :)

I'm giving 4oz at 10:00.
He's sleeping through the night and not at all interested in the bottle in the morning.  He will drink between 3-4 oz in the morning.
I'm so afraid to "rock the boat" :)

He goes down at 7:30pm

Thanks!

How old is your lo?

If you are looking at dropping the DF, I would do it like this - see below link.

Hi thanks Paula!  I have that book and have read page 123 -- I can try to change it up a bit.... DS only takes 4oz and at 10:00.
He's just 5 months (in a couple days) but on 3x/day solids.  He also drinks aroudn 32 - 35 oz formula in the day.  He's definately getting enough and isn't hungry in the morning -- but I'm so afraid he'll start waking up at 10:00pm (the normal time I give him the df) and am trying to avoid this situation :)

I would just try and do it slowly at this stage.  There is no rush to drop the DF at this age, but as you said your lo is getting more than enough through the day.

I would try and cut it down slowly, and then see how your DS takes it.

Good luke, keep us posted on how you get on.
