Should I let him nap for more than 2 hours?
« on: September 02, 2007, 08:23:35 am »
Our schedule is still all over the place with ds not settling before 11pm at night, result is he sleeps well during the day until 4.30ish when it goes wonky. I have to wake him from morning and mid day nap. This morning he had 1.5 hours activity, 1.5 hour nap, 2 hours activity ( so long because he needs to wait for meds to take effect before eating then stay upright for the best part of an hour due spit up, sometimes this activity is only 1.5 hours depending on his signals).
He is now gone down for his lunchtime nap, just wondering should I let him sleep 2 hours or longer? He is between a 3 and 3.5 hour feeding schedule, nearer to 3.5.

It depends a bit on the rest of your routine - at that age I let Katie sleep for 2hrs at her lunchtime nap as she would only ever have 45 mins for her afternoon nap (and another 45 for her catnap) and it made our day work out better if she had 2hrs at lunchtime...

I would say yes to 2 hours, but perhaps not much  longer.
