Playing alone - Nearly 3 YO
« on: September 13, 2007, 19:59:54 pm »
I know that DS has friends in nursery - he even has a little sweetheart - but I still worry when I come and pick him up from nursery and he's reading a book on his own (quite often) or playing with a toy alone.

The other day, they had a dancing session and two boys were holding each other and mucking about - I cannot imagine DS doing that.

He's OK on play dates with just one child to deal with - I'm just not sure how he feels about being part of a group

I appreciate that I am like that too - I have to be feel comfortable to be in a group - but I would just like to hear that this is normal and that he doesn't have trouble forming relationships with his peers.  I thought that toddlers of that age were past parallel playing and were interacting by now.

TIA

In my play group not all kids play the same.  The one's that have been going since I started it play better than the new one's.  We have one lo who likes the adults better than the kids.  I think its fine.
Tanner- My active, fun loving 4yr old.
Kaitlyn- My new baby girl.
