11 month old sleep schudule
« on: October 02, 2007, 20:00:14 pm »
My DS is just about 11 months old.  This is his typical schedule

usually 6-6:30 wake and bottle
7:30 breakfast
nap 9-9:30 for 1-1 1/2hr
11-11:30 bottle
12:30 lunch
nap 2:30-3 for about 1 hr
bottle 4ish
5-5:30 dinner
bedtime 7-8 depends on when he wakes from 2nd nap (usually after about 3 1/2 - 4 hr)

He has been waking between 4:30 and 5:30 off and on for the past two weeks but he is getting over a cold.  I give him a bottle after 30min of being awake if he doesnt go back to sleep on his own.  He goes to sleep on his own and usualyy gets back to sleep in the middle of the night.  we already wnet through crying it out at 4 mo and 6 mo.

Lately he hasnt been taking his 2nd nap off and on.  He doesnt cry.  He plays in his crib for 45-1 hr and evenually starts to crab, so I get him.  Today he actually slept until 8am which is abnormal.  I held him off until 12:30 and he slept until 2:10. So, he will go to bed earlier, usually around 7.  Yesterday I tried at 3.5 hours and then finally at 4.5 hrs he took a nap but I woke him after 30 min so he would go to bed at a normal time.  If I didnt hold him off today he would have most likely skipped an afternoon nap.  Do you think he is slowly transitioning to one nap a day.  My first son didnt until 16 months.  He does still take a 2nd nap sometimes.  Sorry this is soo long.

hi there,
yup sound like the transition to one nap.
many moms, actually start to cut the am nap to get a good pm nap
perhaps start cutting it to 1hr and then bring the pm nap forward to 2pm for maybe 1.5hrs.
