Pat / Shh and the 45 minute nap
« on: November 26, 2007, 14:56:01 pm »
My DS suffers from the dreaded 45 minute nap.  We are doing great at pat / shh when he is waking...but I have a question...

Do you shhhh even when they are not crying?  I thought the shhh was to make them concentrate on something other than crying?

He is not waking and crying anymore - he is just rolling around and fussing a bit.  I am not sure if I should just leave him be - or hold his legs and pat / shhh.  I have been pat / shh 'ing - but then I was thinking "is this bad, am I creating habit by doing this when he isn't crying?"

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks

Yes, you want to leave him be unless he's crying urgently.  :)
