routinly waking before dream feed
« on: December 28, 2007, 17:55:08 pm »
MY 5 1/2 month old is on the 4 hour routine, gets a bottle between 6:30/7:00pm bed at 7:30 but is waking 10 minutes before the normal dream feed.  We adjusted the dream feed to 10:30 instead of 11 because we rather go to bed earlier.  He has started to wake up every night 10-20 minutes before the dream feed crying and seems to be very hungry.   Should we PU/PD to 10:30 or just feed him earlier? I'm afraid his wakings will get earlier and earlier.  Also it really not a dream feed when he is awake is it?   Why is he waking in anticipation of the feed?  We are following the sample 4 hour routine in the book.  His afternoon naps have been increasing to 1hr 45min lately.  Should we reduce the last nap?

thanks,

Erich

Hi Erich

I am not sure that I have any answers for you as I think this is quite common around this age -  mine started doing it too!  I just fed her when she woke up and it seemed to work out fine. Over time we moved the dream feed earlier and she stopped waking up.

However I am wondering about that last nap, as you say - can you post your whole routine for us?
