« on: December 28, 2007, 21:32:05 pm »
ok this is what our day looks like now but i need help with evening. i hear about cluster feeds and dream feeds. she tends to be a cat napper at evening but dont know how to put it into a routine!! please help me!! she adjusts pretty easy.

i feed her off one boob laying down about 7:30am and we go back to sleep

we get up at 9 and she eats again. we play for a bit
ready for nap at 10 ish. i lay her in her bed and she goes to sleep on own
up at 12 or 12:30. eats plays then down about 1 or 1:30pm. for about 1-2 hours.
from there i dont know what to do and its when dh gets home and i'm trying to get dinner ready and things get crazy. sometimes she will eat at 9ish and go to bed about 9;30ish. and then wake at 2 or 3am for a feed. most nights i cant get her to sleep till 11 or 12!! so what can i do this part of our routine? thanks!!!!!

We have a 9 week old DD too.

Can you tell me what happens between 3:30 whenyour lo gets up from her 2 hour nap and 9:30ish when you put her to bed?

We aim for our feeds to be 7, 10, 1, 4 and 7, and aim for her to be in bed for 8pm.  You could perrhaps cluster feed at 4, 6 and 8 and then put her to bed and DF at 10?

What is your bed time routine?

ok as of today this is what we did. we were up at 9am. she went to nap at 10am. up at 12:30 ate and act. back to bed at 1pm. it is now 2:49pm my time and she is still sleeping. will prob be up soon.   our bedtime routine is not much of a routine but we turn down the lights while we put ds to bed.(whole different sleep issue!!). after that it is fly by the seat of our pants! so bad i know! i want to really watch what time she shows signs of tired etc. also if you need to go down town, at what point of their day do u do it? durning nap or leave during awake time?

I always go out during nap time, as i am guaranteed that she will sleep in her car seat while I am out and about, and I can just take her seat out the car and it attaches to the pram, so I don't need to disturb her.

We always have our best naps when we are out and about.

No activity at all.  Just feed, no contact, try to keep the lights down low, don't even change nappy unless you absolutely have to, and put staight back to bed.

Also if you need to go out during the day, I would go at nap times - We try to make sure we have at least 1 or 2 naps in the cot, and go out for the rest.
