Done the PU/PD to extend cat naps...when does she nap again??
« on: January 14, 2008, 10:35:18 am »
My 8 month old has always had catnaps...now im trying the PU/PD. She didnt go to sleep but it was only the first day, but when do I bring her to bed again? The routine I have at the moment is as follows;

7am wake up and breakfast
9am - 10.30 sleep
11am Bottle
1pm lunch
2pm - 3.30 sleep
4pm Bottle + snack
6pm Dinner
7pm Bath/Bottle bed

As her sleep would not be until 2 pm but she has only slept for 40 min in the morning...can anyone advice on what you have done or what you would suggest I do?

At 8 mos, she's probably ready for a bit longer A time - my guess is that's  why you've gotten a 40 min nap.  You may want to try extending her A times just by 15 min and see if that helps any.  She also then could probably cut out her cat nap entirely.  At first, you may need to move bedtime 15 min earlier til her A times get sorted out, but she should be able to go close to 3 hrs of A time, then with 2 naps.
