What age for colouring?

Hi

I've just been sat here watching Ella (just turned 1 on Sunday) colouring with a pencil on a piece of paper.  I'd given them her to play with for a minute but was quite surprised watching her purposely drawing!

What age do lo's start colouring??

i dont' know the average age, but my Lo liked coloring when she was about that age.  I bought her non-toxic, washable crayons.  i just watched her when she colored to make sure the colors didn't go into her mouth.  that's the worst thing about letting a 12 mo color IMO because everything still goes into their mouths.   ::)

My son started at about 14 mos..........but still at 16 1/2 mos eating the (non-toxic) crayons is more fun than coloring with them.  :-\

Aimee likes "yellowing" as she calls it and I think she was about 12 months.

Ithink my ds started around a year.  Even now he still eats them  :o.

Same for us but ds started finger painting in nursery at about 7mo (with a lot of help, obviously!)
