well guess i danced too fast. She is getting sick again and not sure if its teeth or not. woke up 3 times last night and now naps are also affected. So in short we are back to sleeping on mommy.

Quick question is it best to AP in these times so that she does not get overtired?

I wouldn't worry about it Darlene.
I always did AP with Sasha when she was ill and needed it.Much better for her to get the sleep when she was ill and undo the AP when she was better.

Hope she feeld better soon :-*

We have been fortunate on illnesses and he has not been sick but a few times.  On teething we generally got away with giving motrin and putting him back down. When he has been actually ill - we have done what it takes to comfort.  If that meant being held and rocked to sleep, so be it.  He has generally been easy to get back on schedule when he feels well better.

ok, i'm back and things have not changed much. Since this post she has slept through only 3 times and the rest wakes at least once a night still. She is not sick, no teething. the problem is that it takes forever to get her back to sleep 2-3 hours. I do wi/wo and she will settle to only wake 15-20 later screaming again.

Last night i put in a night light to see if that would help, in case she was scared and if she woke she could find her own teddy and paci. She woke at 3:30am when i went in she had her teddy and paci so that was not the problem but she wanted to get out and kept signing "milk". I gave her 5-6 oz and she swollowed it down in less then 1 minutes. She also took her 8 oz bottle this am with no problem. she did not seem tired when she woke at 3:30 and was happy and chipper this am. wondering if i should start the transition to 1 nap.

at the moment she naps 30 minutes (cut it down again hopping that would help) and 2 hours in the pm until 3:30 bedtime is 7:30. she eats like a horse all the time and is able to sign eat when hungry and we usually give her a snack.

Could it be that she is just thirsty in the night she already drinks alot of water (at least 12 oz if not more) pluse has 2 X 8 oz bottles and 5 oz cup on milk after lunch. Lately her diaper has been soaked thru when she wakes due to the amount she is drinking.

This was my baby that has not had a night bottle since 6 months old and was sleeping thorugh the night no problem.

Hi Darlene-

I don't have any advice for you, but my lo has been up the last 2 nights for more than 2 hours each time, so I can sympathize.

I've found WI/WO just upsets more, so I've started GW.  I do WI/PD (if she doesn't fight me) and then I rub her head a little til she's calms.  Then I place my hand on her back for a bit, then remove it and just stand by her crib.

Of course, this hasn't worked the past 2 nights for the 2 hour + wakings, but it has worked on other NWs.

My lo just cut her top 2 molars, so maybe it's teething but I'm leaning towards developmental.

I'm sending some sleep vibes your way,
Leslie
