winding down activities
« on: March 07, 2008, 12:28:08 pm »
hi there!  I need some suggestions for winding down activities before naps and bedtime.  I have a 9 month old son.
We usually read a book and look at quiet toys, sometimes a bath, but i need more ideas, he needs a longer wind down, ours is quite short!  Thanks!!!!

Hi Leos mom!
I put my son in a sling and walk around the house straightening up as the first part of our wind down routing.  He loves it and I find it really calms him down.

we have always done books and singing of nursery rhymes.  we would start cuddled up downstairs with 2 books and would then move upstairs, read a few more books and rock in the chair singing nursery rhymes.  this and a nappy change and she'd be all wound down.
