Toddler Poop
« on: March 20, 2008, 23:40:25 pm »
I didn't know where to ask this and since pooping is related to eating I figured I'd try here.
I wasn't concerned about this until my husband commented that our 21 month old's stool is still very soft. He said all of his friends at work say their kids stool is solid at this age. Should I be concerned that my sons stool is still soft. When he was an infant his poop was green, and the doc said that he probably has a high metabolism. He is still eating a lot and gaining weight, but he has never been a chubby kid. I breastfed until he was 14 months old.
Any advice would be appreciated!!

I won't worry at all.  My Lo is also 21 months old and has 3-4 very soft stools per day.  I took her too the dr and she said it is absolutely nothing to worry about.  My Lo eats alot of fibre so that is probably contributing to the soft stool.  I think Lo's are just like adults-some will poop 3 times a day and others once in every 3 days (sorry tmi) so I think if your LO is healthy and gaining weight there is nothing too be worried about  ;D ;D
