bf + pg = OUCH?
« on: April 13, 2008, 12:52:35 pm »
I started having a lot of nipple pain the last week or two.  DD's latch is awful, of course - but it has been for months.  I thought it was down to cutting a new tooth, but now I know I am pg, is it likely related to that?

Wow, huge congrats!

Yes, I had nipple pain while pregant and breastfeeding for the first couple of months.  That's likely the culprit.

When I got pg, my nipples became quite sensitive too--my nursing toddler tended to take a rather gymnastic approach to nursing anyhow, so I had to work with him to keep him a bit more still and latched on better.

Congrats Ellen! I've also heard about BF nipples being sensitive due to pregnancy! And that your milk tastes different too.
