Pickles

Are pickles considered vegetables? I know they are high sodium but do they have good nutrients in them? My 18-month old DS loves dill pickles so sometimes I give them to him with lunch in place of a veggie...but then he gets 'real' veggies with dinner.
Just curious what other moms thoughts are on that!

well, my understanding is that they're cucumbers, pickled...I think the sodium content is the worry...but I consider it a pickled cucumber LOL
