How to leave the house???
« on: April 14, 2008, 13:32:25 pm »
Hi There,

I am in a bit of a pickle.  My LO is really great and has two 1 1/2hr naps per day (almost 8mths old).  My problem is that I can not seem to get out of the house to take him for any walks.  I really enjoy walking, however anytime I put him in the stroller he immediately falls asleep after about 10 mins.  I thought of taking advantage of this and just taking him out for a walk during his normal nap time, however if he is in the stroller he will only sleep for about 30-45mins.  Then due to the short nap he becomes really really cranky and the day goes bad from there.  If I take him out during his activity time, then I mess up his nap time as he falls alseep earlier and once again only for 30-45mins.

I just don't know what to do so that I can get him out of the house for a walk.  Anyone else have this problem????

Even if he's just woken up he falls asleep after 10 minutes?
Have you tried going at at naptime and then when you are home transferring him to a cot/crib?

No if he has just gotten up, he won't go to sleep after 10 mins however, he has his bottle after waking and then an hour later has his solids.  In between bottle and solids is diaper and cleaning up time around the house.  : )  So by the time that we would be ready to go out for a walk he would have been up for about 1 1/2 which is still well b4 a nap time (he has activity time of about 3hrs).

I have tried it a couple of times of transfering him to the crib once we get home, but it hasn't seemed to work as he has gotten a bit of sleep and because of that he seems to think he can continue without any extra sleep, but then he gets cranky.  So confused.
